*Mother Julian’s Eve*The first change in the weather has come.Stiff winds have blownblossom off the trees andscattered it haphazardly, with new leaves and litter, along the hedgerows and pavements. There is a chillunder the clear night sky,and the dogs race for home, walk and duty done.Tomorrow God’s gathered friendswill bring cleansinginto a violated home, andhealing into abused lives,as we plead Christ’s sacrificeand his awesome victory. The wind of the Spirit, gift of the Father through the Son,will blow where he wishesin his usual unpredictable way.But Satan’s worst will bedriven far away andall shall be well.(C) David Grieve 2007
Ten years or more of Higher Education, 7 years of Ordained Ministry in the Church of England... and now I'm managing to combine both, parish priest and university chaplain. It's a wonderful life. (Oh yes it is!)
