The Man from the Media...
... he say "yes." This patch is absolutely ideal for what he has in mind.
This is getting interesting.
Now, all he has to do is find a suitable cluster of houses where the residents all want to sign up. I think he has a slightly better chance of it than I do in attempting to convince the residents that Jesus Christ has something to offer that they would receive lasting benefits from.... Go on residents of this esteemed postcode sector, prove me wrong (on both counts!)
As Rolf Harris would say "can you guess what it is yet?"
Bet you can't.
Community Figures
It's amazing the sort of thing that happens when you make yourself known as a vicar on
internet. This week I have been contacted by a television researcher with an interesting proposal, primarily to serve as a springboard I can only presume, as
"the main key person in the community."I am honoured, but I can't lay claim to the title, not that I know who could. The supermarket manager, the landlord of the pub, the head of one of the schools; I don't know.
But isn't it interesting that we're still thought of as such important figures - which is doubly ironic given the stick the church get in some segments of the media, and the widespread apathy in the majority of the community.
Does the programme idea itself have "legs"? Will it "run"? And here in my patch? For that I'll wait and see what the researcher thinks later this week. For myself I'll just say "No comment" at present.
And you can quote me on that.
