Millions of children in India are forced into work instead of going to school, so may never learn to read.
Give 15p for every newspaper, magazine or book you've read in the past week.
Please note: the PDF reference I gave here is for last year's version of this. Sorry. I'll try to find this year's later...

  Fruity Markers for Post-Christendom
(Category: Life)
Those who know me well will know how I feel about Christmas cards being on sale in September or the (now defunct) Residents' Association holding an Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Saturday (the thought of it, bluster, bluster!). That, and other similar happenings are, to me, clear markers of the post-Christian state of this country, not least in terms of popular culture.

So you can guess how I reacted to GLW bringing home the shopping on Saturday and offering me Hot Cross Buns! I was not amused.

However in retrospect maybe it has to do with the fact that I'm not very keen on Hot Cross Buns (Spice goes in curry and chilli, not bread).

And, of course, who am I to complain? I've been scoffing mini-eggs for weeks and enjoying every single one! Whoops – score one hypocrisy point.
(Oh, and chilli is nice in Cheddar cheese too...)

To some he's the vicar, Reverend Stuart, on a mission to help people discover the open secret of eternal life. To others he is a writer, thinker, punster and drinking partner. He is Dr Moose - and these are some of his thoughts.
